These Connected Degree programs enable you to complete your associate degree and then transfer to a four-year degree program as a junior.
The Connected Degree 2+2 Curriculum
Delaware Tech's associate degree program in Early Childhood Development will give you the knowledge and skills required to enter the early childhood field. The Delaware Tech degree will teach you curriculum development and implementation, communication skills and classroom management strategies. You will also participate in a number of practical experiences that provide the hands-on training needed to be successful in this field. As a graduate of the program, you will be ready to play an important role in the delivery of quality children's programs in a variety of settings including home and child care centers. The experience you develop in these locations will establish your professional credentials and a foundation for moving into a management position in this growing field. Springfield College's School of Professional and Continuing Studies offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services that enables the student to build leadership skills to serve the community, develop critical thinking and social analysis skills, learn about the history and future of human services, and integrate theory and practice in classroom, workplace, and community. Human Services is a broad field spanning professions in the non-profit and public sectors in such areas as alcohol and drug abuse prevention and treatment, mental health and elder care, social and welfare reform, youth work and early childhood development, law enforcement, corrections, and probation. The Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services requires a minimum of 120 credits for graduation. Course sequencing may vary by semester. See your advisor. At least 48 credits must be taken in residency at Springfield College. Additional credits can be obtained through experiential learning portfolio credits or additional electives to satisfy the degree requirement of 120 credits.
