Your Path to a Bachelor's Degree

Delaware Tech has established agreements with four-year colleges and universities that connect Delaware Tech associate degree programs with bachelor's degree programs to create smooth transfer opportunities for you. These Connected Degree programs enable you to complete your associate degree and then transfer to a four-year degree program as a junior.

The Connected Degree 2+2 Curriculum

Delaware Tech's Paralegal associate degree program, which is approved by the American Bar Association (ABA), prepares graduates to use a range of research methods and information to complete a variety of legal activities including producing the documents necessary for a functioning law office. To supplement classroom knowledge and applications, you'll be required to complete an internship allowing you to gain the valuable work experience that employers seek. As a graduate of the program, you'll be able to pursue career opportunities in federal, state and local governmental agencies, law firms, the court system, banks, insurance companies, private business, and corporations. Widener University's Bachelor of Science degree program in Legal Studies provides an in-depth learning experience essential to the paralegal profession, including classes in civil and criminal theory, legal writing, research skills, and procedure. Upon completion, you will earn both a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in legal studies and a paralegal certificate of completion. By consulting with your advisor in choosing legal electives, you can also earn a paralegal studies certificate of completion, at no additional cost, in one the following concentrations: Criminal law, Corporate law, Litigation, Health law, Estate administration law, Intellectual property law.
