TRIO Programs
Delaware Tech's TRIO programs are designed to identify promising students, prepare them to do college work, provide information on academic and financial aid opportunities, as well as tutoring and support services in an effort to enhance high school completion, college retention, and graduation. Students enrolled in the TRIO programs mirror our nation's multi-ethnic society. These Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are outreach and student services programs designed to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-secondary programs. Based on the premise that all students should have access to higher education, TRIO programs address non-financial barriers to post- secondary education, including inadequate academic preparation, lack of family or peer support, and limited post-secondary education or opportunities.
